This page is dedicated to the wonderful cats
I have known that have passed on. Each of them has been special to me and is remembered and missed. As we all know, the curse of loving animals is that they're little lives are much too short, but the scope of what they teach us and the love they give us is huge. I am so thankful to have known these precious ones.

Bindy

? - 2009

Bindy was a very special girl.  I had not planned to adopt, but when I saw her looking so innocent at the pet adoption I knew I had to take her home.  Unlike other cats that sometimes take a while to get used to their new surroundings and human, Bindy was right at home immediately.  As soon as I got her home and put her down, she immediately jumped up on my lap and just wanted to curl up and be petted.  Every night Bindy would be in my lap as I watched TV just purring away.  Bindy will always hold a special place in my heart, I only wish she could have been with me longer!

Nicki

1997-2009

We adopted Nicki and Hatfield together as 8 week old kittens in May 1997 in Raleigh, NC.  They were so cute together and I enjoyed watching them play and fight together.  If you knew Nicki, she LOVED food, especially our food and she was like that from the time she was a kitten.  When they were kittens, we had to lock them in our bedroom while we ate because they wouldn't stay off the table.  Fortunately, a friend told us about the spray bottle    :-)  Even at an early age, Nicki was already so agile and graceful with her movements.  Hatfield tried to keep up with her when they were young but soon realized that he couldn't :-)  Her favorite toy when she was a kitten was my makeup sponge.  Every morning when I would get ready for work, she would steal it and run away with it.  I finally got smart and bought her own sponges that she loved to play with.  As an adult, Nicki absolutely loved being outside on our screened-in porches.  She spent countless hours watching the birds, soaking up the sun, enjoying the weather and yes, even catching a few lizards :-)  She would go out there on the hottest and coldest of days.  It didn't matter to her she just loved being out there.  She also loved running throughout our house from the upstairs to the downstairs.  She would tear through our house at top speeds......at times it would sound like a herd of elephants running across the upstairs.  Perhaps the thing that was the most amazing to watch about Nicki was her agility.  She would jump and leap across our furniture so effortlessly.  She was unbelievably precise and almost never fell.  She would many times jump up on our hand rail overlooking our great room.  She would lay across the rail and just look at me as to say "Look what I can do."  Of course, I always worried about her falling and I think she may have once or twice but I never witnessed it...........thank goodness!  Nicki also loved to talk.  She had different meows for different things. She constantly communicated her needs to us.......when to eat, when to go outside, when to be loved.  I could have sworn she wore a watch on her wrist because she knew the exact time that she was to be fed.  In fact, Hatfield and Maddux relied on Nicki to tell us when it was time to eat.  The thing that I will miss the most about Nicki was her love that she shared with us.  She loved to be with us, day or night.  She loved to be petted or what I called "kitty loving".  You could stroke her all over her body...... forever it seemed.  She just loved it so much and we enjoyed loving and petting on her too.  She was an extremely sweet kitty to everyone - she never hissed, scratched or bit- even at the vet.  She just had an unbelievable sweet nature about her that will truly be missed........

We feel blessed to have had Nicki in our lives for almost 12 years.  She added so much to our lives and she will be fondly remembered.  We miss her so much and though the memories brings tears to my eyes right now........I know that as time passes my tears will be replaced by smiles and her memories will live in our hearts forever.

Sinbad

1994-2008

Sinbad was beautiful on the outside and on the inside (that is, if you could see past his feistiness!) He was a no- nonsense boy, who really didn't want to be loved up alot in his early years although he did get quite affectionate in his twilight years. I was so happy the day I went over and he sat in my lap and I petted him while he purred happily. I felt like one of the "chosen ones". He especially loved his friend Nanci, who seemed to have an extra special bond with him.

I have to laugh when I think about how this prissy boy once sent me to the emergency room! I "crossed the line" with him while trying to give him some meds and he chomped down on my arm. It was obviously my fault, as I should have backed off earlier! I still have the scars from his menacing fangs! In spite of this, I still loved him dearly. I love a cat with lots of spirit who demands respect! He was a lucky boy who lived in a home full of love and comfort. We will all miss him terribly!

Buckwheat

1992-2008

Buckwheat was what one might call "wacky"! She was always a feisty little girl who always wanted to keep an eye on everything. (See how her eyes are bugging out?!) She would "allow" me to take care of her from time to time and eventually got to the point where she would let me touch & pet her a little bit. Early on when I'd try to touch her she'd whine, look extremely disgusted, and make faux nipping gestures to shoo me off! However, she did really love to play. She would zip up and down the hall after the laser mouse like a kitten! Rumor has it that she turned into a lap kitty with her daddy, but I would have to see that to believe it! ha ha! She had so much personality and charisma, there's no way one could not fall in love with her, as I certainly did. Bye bye crazy girl. Have fun with Bosco!

Hershey

1994-2008

Hershey was a sweetheart beyond compare. Every time I would go to his house, which he shared with 5 other cats, he would be the first to greet me at the door. He was always so happy to see me, which made "Aunt Cat" feel very special! I especially loved it when he would lick my face! If I picked him up to cuddle him, he would purr loudly and then commence to licking my chin until it was almost raw! He had a long happy life in a very loving home. He was a beautiful Persian boy and I'll miss him terribly, along with his brother Snickers.

Belly

???-March 8, 2008

Belly was a very special girl. She was always quiet and unassuming, just wanting to be petted and brushed. She was a calming influence on me and I always looked forward to our quiet, peaceful times together as she lay on the couch purring while I brushed her. There was only one thing that would elicit any kind of excitement out of Belly and that was catnip! She absolutely loved it! I got into the habit of putting a little pile of it on one of her toys, and soon, each time I came over she'd go immediately over to that toy and wait for me to put the catnip on it! She was a precious little soul and I'll miss her very much.

Munchie

???-June 2007

Munchie was a big Daddy's Girl! She loved my husband and made it a point to climb all over him as soon as he got in the bed at night! When she first joined our family, she was somewhere between 8 and 14 years old. We were very lucky to have her with us for 7 years. She didn't put up with any crap from her "brothers" and when one of them would get too near her, she would lash out like a banshee! She would also get a bit testy with our human guests from time to time! We loved her anyway -- the ol' spitfire.

Smoky

1987 - 2007

Smoky was a beautiful boy who was the only mixed breed in a house full of Persians. He was certainly every bit as beautiful as the others. He was a sweet boy, although he could cop a 'tude if he got a mind to. He chomped my hand once to let me know he was irritated. You've got to love a cat with such spirit! Most of the time, he was jovial and happy and enjoyed being petted and playing. I'll miss this handsome fellow!

Snickers

1994-November 3, 2007

Snickers was "brother" to Smoky and he ruled the house of Persians! He assumed the role of dictator and terrorized all the others whenever he got the whim! To look at him, you'd never know he could be such a force. He was beautiful and sweet as could be to me. He and his brother, Hershey, would always greet me at the door first thing when I came over. He loved to be petted and combed and to play. He would also lick the stew out of you from time to time, which I loved! He will be greatly missed.

Octavia

Octavia was a little, round, gray & white bundle of love. She was always very friendly and sweet and would purr happily when I petted and brushed her. She was a delight and I'm so glad I got to know her and care for her for many years.

Amie

June 1, 1987-
September 18, 2004

Cassie

June 1, 1987-
December 7, 2005

Amie and Cassandra were delivered to me when they were only 6 weeks old. My friend Marilyn promised me to bring one kitten that was part of a litter abandoned in Hendersonville TN. I had just moved into my first home in Nashville Tennessee and I definitely wanted to share my new home with a new kitten. Amie was the destined one since she was the runt of the litter, which was my preference.

What I didn’t expect was Marilyn to bring another female littermate. Seeing the two play together gave me no choice but to keep both. Looking back, it was one of the best days in my life.

Throughout our lives together, they saw me through two graduate degrees, four different jobs, marriage, divorce, a major life announcement, and moves from Nashville to Charleston SC (our favorite since they had the best screened in porch to "sun" in) to Suwanee with many temporary apartments in-between our moves. Never once did they complain. During all of our moves, they would just look at me as if to say "We don’t care where we live, as long as it is with you".

I travel quite a bit and was thrilled to meet Cat Denton. While I always felt some guilt for traveling, I knew they were safe in Cat’s extremely capable hands.

Amie and Cassie were very small - both around 5 pounds. Cassie was definitely aging faster than her sister and had more problems - especially hyperthyroidism. She would get sick more often, but would always come through. She also lost her hearing in 2003.

Amie, on the other hand, acted like a kitten her entire life. She was always up to playing (her favorite was to get underneath the sheets as I made the bed) and jumping as high as she could. If Amie went missing, we always seemed to find her on top of the refrigerator.

From the day I got them, Amie slept underneath the covers between my legs and Cassie always on the top of my pillow.

On Saturday morning, September 18, 2004 I noticed that Amie didn’t wake me up in the morning like she usually did. I went downstairs and couldn’t find her. I instinctively went underneath my bed and found her - she had a stroke and couldn’t move. She was in distress. We rushed her to the vet to we had to put her down. I was devastated. The loss happened so fast. She was the first major loss that I ever had.

Cassie missed her sister, but also enjoyed being the only child for a while. She hung around as long as she could, but succumbed to old age on December 7, 2005 and joined her sister.

Both are with me in spirit, and I know one day we will be reunited.

Goldie

1993-2005

Goldie was a beautiful girl who shared her home with two "brothers" Tango & Tiger. They all got along quite well, although Goldie seemed to enjoy her quiet times in her mom's bedroom. She would yell loudly when I came to see her, wanting to be brushed and loved on. She was a little shy at first, but before long I had won her trust and we were great friends. I'll miss this precious golden girl very much.

Shadow

1989-August 3, 2005

I can’t believe I am sitting here writing another one of these emails. The past year and a half has not been kind to us. Our hearts were broken again on Wednesday when we made the decision to let Shadow go. Shadow had been fighting kidney failure for the past two years and her body just was starting to fail her. Shadow has always been a very spunky girl and when the spunk left her eyes, we knew it was time.

Shadow was 16 years and 4 months old, so she lived a good long life. We adopted her when she was just 8 weeks old, so we were together for 16 years - she lived in four apartments with us out in San Diego, drove cross-country from San Diego out to Georgia, lived in two apartments here, and two homes. She has been a part of our lives for so long, she is going to be deeply missed.

We can credit Shadow with turning Michael from a dog-person to a cat-person. When we first moved out to San Diego, Michael gave me a whole bunch of cat supplies for my birthday and told me we could go out together to pick out my kitten. I think he was highly regretting that decision, as I made him go to every humane society, shelter, rescue group and pet store in San Diego County looking for the "perfect" kitten! When we were driving by a store called "That Fish Store" and I said "Let’s look in there" - I think I was testing his patience. He said a fish store is not going to have kittens, but he humored me anyway and we stopped. Well, that is where we found Shadow. She was in a fish store and was actually in a bird cage with her siblings. One look at her cute face and beautiful tuxedo markings and I knew she was the one. The funniest part of this though, is that over the years Shadow definitely became her daddy’s’ baby. She loved me, but she adored Michael.

We have so many wonderful memories of the times we spent with Shads. She was our first baby and will always hold a very special part in our hearts. We are so sad to say goodbye to her, but happy that she is now reunited with Mookie, Sunny and Topaz. I am sure they gave her a welcome fit for the Queen that she was.

Nanci & Michael

I came across this poem the other day and it is very fitting. We know Shadow was ready to go and was holding on for our sake - giving us time to try to get used to the idea and try to come to terms with it.

May I go now?
Do you think the time is right?

I didn’t want to go at first,
I fought with all my might.
But something seems to draw me now
to a warm and loving light.
I want to go, I really do.
It’s difficult to stay.

But I will try as best I can
to live just one more day.
To give you time to care for me
and share your love and fears.
I know you’re sad and afraid,
because I see your tears.

I’ll not be far,
I promise that, and hope you’ll always know
that my spirit will be close to you
wherever you may go.
Thank you so for loving me.
You know I love you too,
that’s why it’s hard to say goodbye
and end this life with you.

So hold me now just one more time
and let me hear you say,
because you care so much for me,
you’ll let me go today."

Topaz

??-2005

We just wanted to let everyone know that Topaz lost his fight with cancer today. We had six wonderful weeks with him since he was diagnosed, and we cherished every minute, every purr and every kiss he gave us. He made it easy on us not having to make the decision to put him down, and died this morning pretty peacefully in my arms.

Topaz came into our lives from the Gwinnett County Animal Control. I was volunteering up there at the time, and at the end of one Saturday as they were closing, they came and pulled Topaz out of his cage to be euthanized. He had been there two weeks and had not been adopted so his time was up. When I found out what was happening, I said "oh, no, I’ll take him and find him a home." Well, that home ended up being with Michael and I, and we had nine wonderful years with him.

Topaz was a very quiet, laid-back cat. In nine years, he never was sick up until the end. He was such a good boy and had the prettiest blue eyes I’ve ever seen. One of the things that Michael and I will miss most about our baby is his kisses. Every night for nine years, Topaz came into our room when we got into bed and would climb up and cuddle with us and give us many, many kisses goodnight before retiring for the evening. This happened literally every night and also every morning when the alarm went off - it was like clockwork and he never missed a night or a morning until he got sick. In fact, that is what tipped us off that something was wrong with him when he missed his kisses a few days in a row. He would literally give hundreds of kisses. I think it was his way of thanking us every day for saving his life and giving him a happy home.

He was a very special boy and although we know he is happy now and running around with Mookie and Sunny, Michael and I, along with Shadow, Neiko, Murphy and Jasmine, will miss him deeply.

sunnygal.gif (29379 bytes) Sunny

1994-July 2004

What can you say about one of the sweetest, gentlest, loving cats ever? How do you say goodbye to someone that has been such an integral part of your life for 9-1/2 years?

Sunny lost his four-year battle with kidney failure today. Sunny was diagnosed in August 2000, and at that time was only given three months to live. We are so blessed that we had four more years with him, although 20 more still wouldn’t have been enough. Sunny was such a fighter and had such a will to live. It was only in the last week that his body finally started to fail him and he just couldn’t fight any more. Michael and I did the last possible thing we could to show him how much we loved him, and we held and kissed and cried on him while our wonderful friend and vet, Tonia, come to our house today to help us say goodbye to him.

Sunny was one of those cats that everybody loved, even people who didn’t like cats remarked about how he was such a cool cat. Sunny was rescued from the animal shelter 9-1/2 years ago so we don’t know how old he was. He gave us nothing but love, happiness and eternal sunshine for all that time. Sunny was our official greeter when anyone came into the house. In fact, any time we had a party or friends over, he was always right in the middle of it, convinced that everyone came over just to see him. He was very good at getting people to follow him to the closet that held the treats and conning them into giving him one. Sunny purred constantly, loved to be held and was just a happy, happy boy. Sunny was quite the talker too. He meowed and chirped and trilled and barked and was always expressing his feelings. He announced everything he did, from walking into the room, to jumping up on the bed, to playing with his toys.

Sunny had to have the best fur on any cat ever. It was so thick and so soft and he never matted and barely shed. We can’t tell you how many times people would pet him and say that they had never felt a coat so soft. He was such a snuggler. You could pick him up at any time and he would purr and cuddle right in. He slept on Michael many times and got countless belly rubs. I would go and get him every night and carry him into bed and he would fall asleep with his head on my shoulder, all curled up in my arms.

Sunny loved food. It didn’t matter what kind — jalapeno cheese, Doritos, spaghetti - he loved it all. He was quite the beggar and would steal things right off your plate if not careful. We’ll never forget the time Michael and I were sitting in our living room eating ribs one night many years ago and before we knew it, Sunny had reached up, grabbed one with his paws, put it in his mouth and ran down the hall with it, leaving little barbeque paw prints all the way down the hall.

Sunny was definitely one in a million and our hearts are breaking that he won’t physically be here anymore to get his daily kisses and hugs. He was loved more than we can ever describe and he will never be forgotten. We know he and Mookie are together now - - happy, healthy, playing and watching over us.

Mookiegal.gif (32569 bytes) Mookie

1990-March 2004

I was one of the few lucky people that got to know this pretty, shy girl. After taking care of her for several years, she finally started to open up to me. Boy, did that make me feel special! She was strictly a mama & daddy's girl, excluding anyone else until she finally decided I was "OK". At first she surprised me by coming to ME to get treats. She even started letting me pet and love on her (just a little). I knew she was my buddy when she jumped up on the sink and demanded that I turn on the faucet so she could drink out of it. In the end she even tolerated me giving her medicine. I passed the test with Mookie; she trusted me. I will miss seeing her little fuzzy face looking askance at me from her favorite bed in the corner of her parents' bedroom. Mookie was a challenge, but that made me love her even more. I'm so glad I got to know her!

giannigal.gif (60129 bytes) Gianni

1998-August 2002

Gianni was the sweetest Siamese boy! He would be the first to greet me when I would come to his house and he would "talk" and "talk" to me while I got his dinner ready. He also loved to be combed and petted, and loved to play with his red feather wand! He would lie on his side while I combed him with the most content look on his face. He made the house happy with his positive attitude and sweet disposition. He was so fun and friendly. I know if there's a kitty heaven, he's up there stirring up things and putting a smile on the angels' faces!

Elsa

1985-October 20,2003

Elsa shared 18 wonderful years of love and companionship with her mom, Dawn. It was obvious how much they loved eachother! There are paintings and likenesses of Elsa all through the house. To say Elsa was pampered would be putting it mildly! She was beautiful, loving, and trusting. I loved how she would "plop down" purring, wanting to be brushed. She was so huggable, too. There were many times I buried my nose in her fur and got a good "Elsa hug" during hard days. I'm so glad I got to share in this special cat's love.

elvis.gif (45689 bytes) Elvis

?-February 9, 2002

What can one say about a little fellow who left us way too soon and took our hearts with him?

Elvis was  lucky boy who showed up on his mom's doorstep as a very scared stray. With infinite patience and love she turned him into a total "house" cat. He shared that house with his "sister", Elsa, for two years before dying recently of heart complications. When he was found, Elvis was so tiny everyone thought he was not full grown, but much to everyone's amazement, the vet believed him to be about 2 years old! He was like a miniature, compact, version of a cat, perfect in every way - fit and muscular with a very sweet disposition.

Everyone wondered how the QUEEN Elsa would take to this interloper on her territory, but she grew to love him as much as the rest of us did; I've even seen the regal Elsa licking Elvis' head a few times!

A person had to win Elvis' affection, though. He was quite shy, but when he "accepted" you, you could consider yourself "special". I was one of those lucky special ones. I'm so glad I got to know him. We'll miss you, boy.

boscogal.GIF (34145 bytes) Bosco

1986-February 14, 2002

Bosco was a beautiful Siamese kitty that brought calm and serenity to all who knew him. He shared his home with the wild and winsome "Buckwheat", who would just as soon bite you as look at you! The two sort of balanced eachother out in a wierd way! I'm so thankful to have known Bosco. He lived a long, happy life full of love and comfort.

Molly & Sammy

?-2002/03

Molly was one of the sweetest kitties ever! I loved to hear her pretty voice. She loved to "talk" to me when I would come visit. She and Sammy were some of my first customers so they were extra special to me. Sammy was a delight. He became blind in his later years and I was so amazed at how loving he still was. Once he got my scent and realized I was a "friend" he would sit and purr like crazy while I petted him. I sure will miss these two!

Maggie

1988-February 2003

Maggie was the tiniest petite little girl! At first she was shy with me but once she got to know me, she was an angel! As you can see she loved to roll on her side and be petted. She had a tiny musical voice to go along with her tiny body. I sure am glad I got to spend some time with this lovely kitty. She is missed by her mom and dad, her "brother" Amos, and of course her "Aunt Cat".

Atti

1998-May 2002

Atti shared a loving home with her sister, Scout. Atti was very sweet, but sometimes exhibited an "attitude"! She certainly had some spunk! She would let me pet her until she decided it was time to quit, and then she'd let me know! I adored her, though. She had such a beautiful black coat and looked so healthy. She loved to play "laser mouse", as does her sister, and enjoyed playing hide-and-seek under the "tents" that her parents created by draping sheets over chairs. I still miss her everytime I go over to see Scout.

Sasha

1989-January 2003

Sasha was a "one-person" cat. She loved her mom, but didn't want anything to do with anyone else. Usually I would find her under a bed or couch. She would give me the "Back Off, Buster!" look! However, her mom tells me that she was loving and sweet with her. What a lucky girl to have a patient, caring mom who pampered and petted her for 14 great years!

tashgal.GIF (25188 bytes) Tash

1986-August 2001

Tash was such a gentle and sweet boy! He was always the first to greet me when I would come visit and was always ready for a treat or his canned food. At my earlier visits he loved to play with my "laser mouse" and would get pretty frantic about trying to catch it. He had a very loud, deep purr which I heard alot, especially when I brushed him! He always made me feel welcome; in fact I always felt that he was delighted to see me, which makes an "Aunt" feel really good! I'll always miss the dear fellow.

shebagal.GIF (26018 bytes) Sheba

1982-2001

I'm so thankful this sweet Himalayan decided to stay with us here on earth for as long as she did. She shared her beautiful home with the much younger and rambunctious "Giselle", her Himalayan "sister". Sheba was the picture of composure and dignity as she watched the boisterous Giselle tear through the house! She would allow me to pet her, but things had to be on her terms. She was always very polite to me, though, and sometimes even seemed glad that I was there! Her quiet beauty and classy presence will definitely be missed.

lanigal.GIF (19400 bytes) Lani

1989-December 2000

I remember the shock I felt to learn that sweet Lani was gone! It seemed just yesterday that we were playing with the purple ribbon she loved to chase. As you can see, she also loved to be petted and brushed and would roll over so I could rub her side and belly. I always feel that a cat who will let me rub or touch her belly is showing the trust she has learned from loving parents. Sometimes Lani would play "hide and seek" with me, hiding on a chair under the tablecloth or somewhere downstairs, but she always made herself a little too easy to find! I'll truly miss this playful, adorable bundle of joy.

monagal.GIF (34147 bytes) Mona

1988-2001

Mona had the most beautiful coat! It was so plush with rich orange and black. She was a shy girl at first and I had to win her trust, but after awhile we became great friends! To say Miss Mona lived a sedentary life would be putting it  mildly. Sometimes I would try to pick her up and move her just to give her a change of scenery! She would struggle and whine, but then when I put her down in the new "spot" (on the bed or on the couch) she would settle in and seem as content as could be! I would pet & brush her there, while she purred. However, one day the amazing "Fancy Feast" came into the picture, causing Mona to motivate. I was amazed to see her hoofing it toward the kitchen after the F.F.! This unique and beautiful cat will always hold a special place in my heart!

burlgal.gif (39802 bytes) Burl

1988-April 2000

a.k.a. "Governor", "Vindaloo", "Cups", "the Baby" etc. etc. etc.

This wacky cat delighted us for 12 years with her silly antics. There are too many special things about her to list (like the time she "saved our lives", the time she got into the heating system, the time she burned her eyebrows off, and many more.) She was a Mama's girl and had a beauty mark in the exact same spot as her mother (on the right side of her lip!) No one can ever take Burl's place!

cansyfuz.gif (49182 bytes) Cansy

1987-October 1998

a.k.a. "Queen of the Whole Damn House"

This little girl always played "mother" to any new kitties that came into the house, and would discipline them sternly if they misbehaved. Even though she was spayed, I think she always wanted to be a mother, so I hope she's getting a chance to be one in heaven. We love you, girl!

This sleek fellow was a joy to know, although I didn't get to know him nearly long enough. He was dearly loved by his mother and father and will always stay in our hearts and minds.

July 4, 1993 -
November 2000

a.k.a. "Furworm", "Wormy", "Mustafa", "Boysenberry", "Bison", "Fuhr", etc.

I got Xerxes for my husband for our 5th anniversary and they were extra special pals. He would wait patiently at night until my husband came to bed and then he would jump up on his chest and purr with the most total expression of serenity and contentment I've ever seen. We always thought he was spiritually advanced and we strove to have the peace he seemed to possess. He loved everyone and everything, even the other cats that came and went in our household. He especially loved our little kitten, "Bubbles", and took him under his wing as a Papa, licking and grooming him.

One thing he REALLY liked was whipped cream and/or ice cream. He learned to come running when I yelled "cream" or "treat".

Xerxes taught us so much about life. He was one of the dearest souls God every put on earth.

Darlin' was one of the smartest cats I've ever known, and also one of the toughest. She was a "wild child" and never spent a night indoors until very near her death of cancer. She lived right next to a VERY busy road, but had the sense to never venture onto it. An amazing thing about Darlin' is that she actually got run over twice! -- by the owners themselves! She ran off for a couple of days and then came back good as new. She was tough as nails, but also so very loving. She would drool and purr like crazy when petted. I know this unique and precious fur-person has a special place in heaven -- maybe as a "Guard Cat" !!

Here are a few more of the special kitties that touched my life and gave me happy memories:

Tasha
Tasha was the sweetest, prettiest Siamese girl you'd ever meet. She was a little shy at first, but when she got to know you she was such a dear and would purr happily! She had a warm, comfortable, loving home and I know now she's playing in kitty heaven with her old friends, Zeke, Mona, & Shali.

Fritz
Fritz was the picture of health. He and his mom were obviously the best of friends and she took such good care of him. He lived to the ripe old age of 18, but he always looked young and vibrant. He was sweet, playful, and the perfect companion. He was always a delight to visit. I'll miss you, boy!

Ginger
Ginger was a big talker! When I would come in, I'd immediately hear her friendly, welcoming "meows" coming from afar and then growing nearer as she rushed to greet me! She was very loving and sweet, always ready to be petted and fed! She'll be remembered fondly.

Tabitha
Tabitha was a very pretty little girl, although quite shy. She shared a very loving home with her "sister" Ally and her papa, Todd. She was obviously doted on and lived a very comfortable life. We'll all miss her gentle presence.

Graemon
Graemon was only with us a very short time. He showed up as a stray and endeared himself to his mom, Beverly, who patiently worked with him in attempts to get him tame enough for adoption. Sadly, when she took him to the vet, they found that he had feline leukemia. The kindest thing to do was to say goodbye. God bless the little boy and may he be safe, happy, and well-fed in kitty heaven.

Mona & Zeke
Zeke was a beautiful, large Siamese with such a sweet personality! Sometimes he would act a little timid, but I could always coax him toward me to be brushed and to get some loving. Then he would purr happily. Mona, too, was a Siamese, and she had quite an attitude! She wanted nothing to do with her "Aunt Cat" and preferred to be left alone to relax in the lap of luxury that she so richly deserved. I will miss them both very much!

Tinker
Tinker was a very vocal and friendly gray tabby girl. She enjoyed living in her lake house with her pal Joey. She always made me feel welcome whenever I came to see her. I hope she is happy wherever she may be now. She will be greatly missed.

Jasmine
This sweet shy little girl enjoyed a very loving household that was obviously geared toward all the comforts a cat would ever want! She was loved dearly..

Trixie
Trixie was a shy girl and preferred me to be far, far away if possible! However, she showed some fondness toward me when I got out her treats, which she loved. She was a gentle and precious sweetheart.

Rainbow
Rainbow made it perfectly clear from the beginning that she didn't intend to become "cozy" with me! When I came over, she would run and hide under the bed. When I looked under there at her, she would hiss and lunge at me in the most violent manner! Needless to say, I would back off at that point! However, I could see that she had another side which she revealed to no one except her owners. To them she was a precious little baby!

Tuxedo
It took quite awhile before Tuxedo decided I was "OK". She was a bit shy, and would try to avoid me while still keeping an eye on me! However, after several years of taking care of her, she finally decided that I was alright after all, and we would sit at the top of the stairs and she would allow me to pet and brush her. I really felt a sense of achievement by gaining her trust. She was a special girl.

Big Kitty
I didn't know Big Kitty for very long before she left us, but it was obvious that she was quite a girl! She lived a long happy life with her family and "brother" Henry.

Slim
Slim was a very handsome, solid black tomcat. He stayed outside and was very muscular. However, despite his tough appearance, he was incredibly sweet to people and even some other cats. He took a little girl kitty named Sandy under his wing and let her eat from his bowl. They became fast friends and soon Sandy was a member of the family! He was a good boy and I hope he's frolicking and enjoying himself in the sunshine of kitty heaven.

the Bad Company
"So Bad", "Beyond Bad", and "Pretty Bad" were the members of the "Bad Company". So Bad was a very handsome cream-colored fellow; he was in cat shows and traveled well in the car! Beyond Bad was a feisty gal who didn't put up with much from her brothers! Pretty Bad was a beautiful silver Persian. He was incredibly sweet and would purr when you touched him. They were all special in their own unique way and they will be missed terribly!

Max
Max left this world WAY too soon! He loved being brushed with his "groom glove", but would sometimes get a little feisty if you brushed him too long. It was all in fun, though, because he really loved people and was always glad to see me. I'll miss this sweet, playful boy!

Shakey
I only met Shakey once, but he made quite an impression on me. He was a senior citizen & full of personality! I wish I could have gotten to know him better before he slipped away.

Morgan, Abby & Echo
Abby & Morgan were two sweet sisters who shared their home with a very vocal cockatiel named Echo. These girls were completely adorable and SO loving! Morgan would lie on her side and purr like crazy when I brushed her! She was also playful and would scurry after my laser mouse, between bouts of affection! Abby enjoyed attention, too, but enjoyed TLC a little more than playtime! They were very special and loved kitties. Sadly they both passed away within months of each other and then shortly afterward, their pal Echo also decided to join them.

Mandu, Maxie, & Kahlua
These 3 elderly Himalayans all died within months of eachother in 2003. It breaks my heart to think of that much beauty and spirit gone. These darlings had the best of both worlds - a beautiful home to relax in, as well as a safe fenced yard to explore. I can see Maxie now lying in his favorite lounge chair on the patio near the lake. He was always glad to see me and would purr instantly when I touched him. Mandu was very regal and enjoyed posing upstairs in the den. He was a little shy at first, but soon we grew to love eachother. Kahlua was Mr. Personality and the most playful of the bunch, although he was the oldest! I loved to hear his husky "MEOW" and took great pleasure in watching his funny little face as he lay on his back pawing and biting at his rabbit's fur toy. I truly miss these remarkable cats.

PeeWee
PeeWee was a beautiful Himalayan -- very sweet, but a little shy. He was a much loved kitty and will be remembered fondly.

Tigger
I only met this little lady once. She was a senior citizen with lots of personality. I remember she loved her canned food and avoiding her jealous brother, Rudy. I wish I could have gotten to know her better before she passed on.

Sam & Ginger
These 2 kitties passed away within months of eachother, Ginger in late 2003 & Sam in early 2004. I'm glad I had some time to get to know these two and their unique personalities. Ginger was skinny orange senior citizen when I met her, but full of spirit! She loved to go out on her deck and would raise quite a ruckus when I tried to get her to come back in! Sam was a "food" cat; he was ALWAYS hungry (although he certainly didn't look emaciated!) He would "talk" to me constantly until I got his homemade meal ready. He could not tolerate any commercial food, so his mom had to make a special homemade diet for him. What a lucky boy to have a mother who loved him so much!

Simon
I never got to meet Simon, but I wanted to mention him here because I was very much looking forward to my first catsit with him. This innocent little ragdoll died unexpectedly in early 2004, much to his parents' grief. Thankfully his sister Luci remains to spread joy and remind us of Simon's playful spirit. She is a delight to behold!

Sadie
She was always so loving and adored playing with my laser mouse.

Munchkin
I'll always remember her as "the cutest thing in fur-britches". She was a "Daddy's Girl".

Stevie
This fellow always wanted to play hide-and-seek with me!

Junior
What a cuddly and playful fellow you were. I wish you hadn't left us so soon.

Maxine
She loved to crawl up in my lap for TLC.

Melissa
The word "feisty" doesn't even come close! This cat was an ORIGINAL.

Tasha
Her loving nature truly touched me.

Muffin
This boy was SUPER-playful and into EVERYTHING!

Missy
She ruled the great outdoors AND indoors!

Kitty
This cat would show you who was BOSS! She was such a beautiful Senior Citizen with personality PLUS.

Lia
Lia was another spunky senior citizen! She was not shy - just persnickity! She only wanted her Mom and Dad to touch her, and although she would hang around me, she never wanted me to pet her. She'd never fail to go for the food or treats though! She sure knew how to manipulate her "Aunt Cat"!

Omar & Tia
Omar was the cutest little Sphinx kitten - one of the few I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was playful and friendly as could be. Tia was a darling Siamese/Cornish Rex mix. What a personality she had! Poor Omar was the product & victim  of  a bad cattery and had an insidious case of FIP, which eventually took him down, along with the beautiful Tia. Please be warned! - Thoroughly check out any cattery you are considering before buying a kitten! - It could mean life or death for the kitten and for your other precious cats! There are wonderful catteries that care - and then there are the "bad" ones.

Cricket
Cricket was a cute little black & white girl who enjoyed being petted. She was a little jumpy at times, but always loving and polite!

Callie
Sweet Callie was deaf, like my little "Burl", and neither of them had much volume control when it came to "talking"! Although I didn't have the privilege of knowing Callie as long as I would have liked to, I do know that she was coddled and nurtured by one of the most caring "mothers" a cat could have!

Buddy
Buddy enjoyed the best of both worlds - he got to explore the outdoors and come into a beautiful home whenever he wanted. He left us way too soon, but was loved enough to last a lifetime (and an afterlifetime!)

Samantha
"Sam" was one of those "Back Off Buster!" cats! She would always hang around and watch my every move, but woe be unto the poor soul who tried to pet her! There is no doubt who was boss in that house!

Zeke
This little boy was so patient and sweet.
He was a calm soul and a beautiful boy.

Kitty
This girl enjoyed a life of luxury aboard a houseboat!
I loved to see her come running when I'd come in the door!

Cuddles
This beautiful British Shorthair came over from England with her mom and dad and her "sister" Muffin. She was so shy at first, but I was elated when she finally trusted me enough to let me pet and brush her.

Dooley
Dooley was a big orange teddy bear who brought much joy to his family during his much too short life. He'll be greatly missed.

Zac
Zac was a "senior citizen" when I met him, but full of zest and vigor! He would often scurry around after my "laser mouse". He shared 18 wonderful years with his dad.

Pooter
Pooter had quite a few health problems as he got older, but his parents were so loving and nurturing toward him. There is no doubt this kitty was truly loved.

Shali
Shali always kept a keen eye on everything I did during my visits, although he wasn't too keen on my attempts to cuddle him! He loved his mom and dad dearly and seemed to hold a lofty post in the household of 4 Siamese kitties.

The following is a song I wrote for Melissa's mother. It has meant alot to me, especially since the loss of my babies, Burl & Cansy. I though you might enjoy it, too.

A Little Piece of God

A tiny footstep on the stair
I can almost see you there
Behind every corner you peer out at me
Then I look around this empty room
Imagining you’ll be home soon
Warm and gentle beside me...

When I felt as if I’d lost all hope
You were always there to help me cope
Calming the storm with silent Grace
Human beings can’t understand
Unspoken moments that we had
Beloved treasures beyond the scope of man...

I’m so thankful for our time
And I know somewhere deep inside
We’ll meet again on the other side
And wherever you may be
I’m loving you and you’re loving me
My Precious One...
Unconditionally

Chorus

A Little Piece of God
On this Earth
The Spirit of all that is dear to me

A Little Piece of God
On this Earth
I’m so glad that you came
and touched me.
